We are so pleased that you are considering The Agnes Irwin School for your daughter! Below, you'll find the process for applying to Grades 2 -4.

Step 1: Parent Visit

As part of the application, parents of applicants in the Lower School are required to complete a parent interview at any time throughout the process. This conversation will give you an opportunity to learn more about our curriculum, ask questions and tell us more about your daughter. Additionally, we encourage you to arrange a private tour or join us for any one of our admission events. The campus tour can either be separate or followed by your parent interview with an Admission Director.

You may arrange an individual parent interview or tour by emailing Director of Lower School Admission and Outreach Megan McHugh or calling 610-801-1204.

Step 2: Online Application

Applying online is easy! Click here to begin an online application. The process includes completing the new student application (which includes a parent/guardian portion and a student portion) and submitting the corresponding $50 application fee. The online application is required prior to your daughter being on campus for her visit day.

Please note that applicants seeking tuition assistance must indicate their intention to apply for tuition assistance on the admission application and with their Admission Director.

Step 3: Student Assessment

Student Assessments are designed to provide an informative and comfortable introduction to our school and our teachers, while engaging the girls in activities. Assessments will be performed by the classroom teacher.

Step 4: Testing

Testing is required for all applicants. Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 4 applicants are required to submit either the results of the ISEE Primary Level Test, or the  WISC-V (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children). Please call Admission Office Assistant Deb Goggins at 610-801-1203 to learn more about these options.

Step 5: School Forms

Recommendations and records from your daughter’s current school are an important part of the application process.

Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 4 applicants should submit the Teacher Recommendation Form (available on the Forms & Downloads page) to your daughter’s current homeroom teacher after November 1, 2024. The recommendation will be sent directly to Agnes Irwin, and its contents will be kept confidential. By signing the form, you accept the confidentiality agreement.

The Release of Records Form (available on the Forms & Downloads page) authorizes your daughter’s school to release her records to Agnes Irwin. Please complete and sign this form and give it to your daughter’s current school. Her records will be sent directly to Agnes Irwin and are kept confidential. Alternatively, parents of applicants can make an electronic request for records to be sent to Agnes Irwin via our portal where you submitted your application previously.

Tuition Assistance

Agnes Irwin is committed to making its educational opportunities available to bright, motivated and talented girls regardless of their family's ability to pay. Applicants seeking tuition assistance must indicate their intention of applying for tuition assistance on the admission application. All tuition assistance applications must be submitted by the deadline in order to receive full consideration for tuition assistance.
